Jennifer H. Farris, MSN, CNM, earned an Associate of Science in Nursing from Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in Arizona. Following her undergraduate education, she pursued a Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. Jennifer is a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB), with the Innovative Midwifery and Women’s Health team at TPMG Obstetrics & Gynecology – Hampton. With over a decade of experience as a labor and delivery nurse, Jennifer eventually chose the midwifery model of care. This model focuses on providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, prenatal care, continuous assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support. Additionally, midwives monitor the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the mother throughout the pregnancy. Jennifer also routinely consults with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals if complications are anticipated and the baby requires medical interventions before delivery. As a certified nurse midwife, Jennifer seeks to provide a tailored approach to care, taking into consideration the personal preferences and needs of each patient. Jennifer is dedicated to supporting her patients through their pregnancy journey, helping them to achieve the birthing experience they have envisioned that best aligns with their healthcare needs. As she seeks to provide a positive experience during this exciting chapter in life, she finds prenatal care and postpartum support to be the most rewarding. In addition to obstetric care, Jennifer provides an array of healthcare services including annual gynecological exams, contraception management, family planning, and labor and delivery support. Jennifer and her family arrived in the Hampton Roads area in 2014, which she now considers home. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has two beautiful girls. In her spare time, she is actively involved in her children’s lives as both a dance and cheer mom. Jennifer warmly welcomes patients to contact the Hampton office to reserve an appointment with her.
