MaryAnn Cheuvront, DNP, CNM is a board certified nurse-midwife with TPMG Obstetrics and Gynecology’s Innovative Midwifery and Women’s Health team.

MaryAnn attended Riverside School of Professional Nursing in Newport News, where she received her Diploma as a Registered Nurse in 1998. In 2010, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. After completing her undergraduate degree, MaryAnn furthered her education and earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing/Midwifery at Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky in 2012. In 2018, MaryAnn earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Old Dominion University. After receiving her degree in Nursing/Midwifery, MaryAnn conducted clinical rotations at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth. She is a proud member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.

MaryAnn has dedicated over half of her life to caring for women and children, making her well-versed in midwifery and women’s healthcare. Her initial interest in health and science led her to pursue a career in nursing, and after her first clinical rotation in labor and delivery, she knew she’d found her true calling. Upon graduating at the age of 21, she immediately began working in labor and delivery. Over the next 14 years, she continued working in labor and delivery while she obtained her certification as a certified nurse-midwife. MaryAnn has worked as a midwife with TPMG for over 10 years.

MaryAnn is committed to providing evidence-based care and engaging in shared decision-making with her patients. She empowers women to achieve the pregnancy and childbirth experience they desire, whatever that may be. She provides comprehensive services including pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care as well as gynecological care and family planning. MaryAnn sees patients from adolescence through menopause and holds a particular medical interest in pregnancy, birth, and adolescent health.

Understanding the importance of educating the next generation of women’s health providers, MaryAnn also places an emphasis on educating midwife students and training new nurse-midwives. She serves as a preceptor for many midwifery students.

MaryAnn is a long-time resident of Hampton Roads and joined TPMG Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2013, and was promoted to Administrative Midwife in 2021. When she isn’t in the office, MaryAnn can be found spending time at the beach and relaxing with her family. As a mother of three boys, two of whom are in college, she enjoys visiting them and cheering them on at their swim meets.

MaryAnn welcomes new and established patients and looks forward to providing excellent, compassionate care to all of her patients.
