Madeline Salyer, MMS, PA-C

Orthopedics Physician Assistant in Newport News and Williamsburg, Virginia

Madeline Salyer, MMS, PA-C is a board-certified physician assistant with TPMG Orthopedics in Newport News and Williamsburg. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience from the University of Richmond in Virginia. Furthering her education, Madeline obtained a Master of Medical Science—Physician Assistant Studies from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She also belongs to the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Madeline joined TPMG Orthopedics in 2024.

Madeline has a classical ballet background, extending from childhood through her collegiate career during which time, she faced multiple injuries requiring medical procedures and rehabilitation. These experiences motivated her to help others through their own physical and emotional recovery journeys. During her studies, she conducted research in a lab focusing on different neuromuscular disorders such as ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and Machado-Joseph Disease (a rare condition affecting the central nervous system, characterized by degeneration of certain areas of the brain). This exposure ignited her passion for supporting patients enduring these conditions, leading her to take a position as a nurse aide. In this role, she found great fulfillment in caring for members of the community who were recovering from joint replacement surgery.

Madeline’s work is driven by compassion and empathy, which remain at the heart of all that she does. Collaborating with Kalain Workman, DO, she is dedicated to building trust among her patients, helping them understand their health in simple terms, and to tailor treatment plans that align with their individual goals and enhance their quality of life. She sees patients 18 years of age and above for a variety of joint-related conditions including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, avascular necrosis, and fractures, among other ailments.

Living and working in Hampton Roads for over two decades, Madeline is no stranger to the local community. She has enjoyed performing in ballets at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, The Sandler Center in Virginia Beach, and The Ferguson Center in Newport News. Now living in Williamsburg with her husband, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, tackling a new crochet project, touring the historic downtown area, and having fun out on the water.

Madeline warmly welcomes patients to make an appointment to see her at TPMG Orthopedics in Newport News and Williamsburg.
