Newport News, Virginia – Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group is pleased to announce that TPMG Physical Therapist, Michael Bolosan PT, DPT earned his certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation.
Vestibular Rehabilitation is a program designed to improve balance and eliminate problems related to dizziness through exercise. This certification is one of many ways TPMG Physical Therapy can complete the circle of care for its patients. Patients treated for musculoskeletal problems can develop vertigo or vestibular dysfunction. The vestibular rehabilitation certification allows TPMG Physical Therapy to continue care throughout the treatment process, identifying and addressing any deficits found during treatment.
Vestibular dysfunction or other balance issues are often connected to head or neck issues, which is why TPMG Physical Therapy can work hand in hand with our Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) and Neurology offices to ensure our patients regain function. Working together, they can create a care plan utilizing multiple clinical perspectives.
Patients referred for Vestibular Rehabilitation are often afflicted by any combination of vertigo, dizziness, and vestibular dysfunction or imbalance, which can greatly impact a patient’s quality of life. Vestibular Rehabilitation therapy can include vision stability training, walking exercises, balance retraining, general fitness exercises, and more.
