Caitlin Kufahl, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant with TPMG Hidenwood Family Medicine in Newport News. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. Furthering her education, she earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). Caitlin joined TPMG Hidenwood Family Medicine in 2023.

Caitlin served as a physician assistant for three years in the Air Force before joining TPMG Denbigh Family Medicine in 2016. She’s worked as a physician assistant for over a decade, in both family practice and urgent care settings. Caitlin always knew she would pursue a career in the medical field, as it would allow her to make a positive impact on her community.

Caitlin encourages her patients to take an active role in their health care. Caitlin prioritizes building long-term relationships with her patients where they feel comfortable making informed decisions about their healthcare. She views the healthcare process as a team effort, involving patients and their families in their healthcare journeys. By taking time with patients and practicing active listening, she can address any concerns they may have and ensure they feel heard.

Caitlin sees patients of all ages for a variety of acute and chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, and more. She particularly enjoys practicing preventative medicine, paying attention to environmental factors, genetic predisposition, lifestyle choices, and other determinants that impact patient well-being.

When she isn’t seeing patients, Caitlin enjoys spending time outdoors and quality time with her children. A native of Hampton Roads, Caitlin loves the area’s sense of community and its proximity to the beach and mountains.
