Kaitlyn C. Proctor, DO, is a board-certified Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with TPMG Hidenwood Family Medicine in Newport News. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. Following her undergraduate degree, she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She went on to complete her residency training at Riverside Family Medicine. A member of multiple professional organizations, she belongs to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Dr. Proctor joined TPMG Hidenwood Family Medicine in 2024.

Prioritizing strong relationships with her patients, Dr. Proctor works alongside her patients and their families to enhance their overall health. As an osteopathic physician, she takes a holistic approach, considering a patient’s physical, mental, and spiritual needs rather than focusing on a list of symptoms or conditions. Dr. Proctor understands that effective treatment goes beyond a simple health history, as she takes time to get to know her patients to address their unique needs more effectively. She also involves patients in the decision-making process to determine the best treatment plan that aligns with their lifestyles.

Dr. Proctor sees patients of all ages, from newborns to those of advanced age, for a variety of acute and chronic conditions, including asthma, COPD, hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure, ear infections, sinus infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and more. She also offers comprehensive medical services, including well-woman care, long-acting reversible contraception placement (IUD), skin biopsies, laceration repairs, cryotherapy, joint injections, and endometrial biopsies. Dr. Proctor has a particular medical interest in women’s health and preventative medicine.

When she isn’t in the office, Dr. Proctor enjoys cooking, spending time with her husband and their daughter, and experiencing the outdoors. She appreciates Hampton Roads for its diverse culture and variety of restaurants.

Dr. Proctor warmly welcomes patients to make an appointment to see her at TPMG Hidenwood Family Medicine.
