Lakisha Swindell-Glenn, MSN, FNP-BC is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with TPMG Urology in Newport News. She earned her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from the Medical Careers Institute in Virginia Beach and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South University Online, College of Nursing. Furthering her education, she earned her Master of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati, College of Nursing. A member of multiple professional organizations, she belongs to the American Urological Association (AUA) and the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA). Lakisha joined TPMG Urology in Newport News in 2023.

Lakisha has worked for nearly 20 years in the medical field as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. During her career, she cared for many patients from different social and cultural backgrounds. As a former military spouse, in 2007 she moved from her home state of Virginia where she started in acute care, to Washington state, where she worked in long-term care and public health. She then moved to California where she worked in women’s health for the Department of Veteran Affairs. Next, she moved to Japan where she worked in primary care on an Army base. She returned to Virginia in 2018, where she worked in post-anesthesia care while attending graduate school.

Lakisha makes sure her patients feel heard and understood, working alongside them and their families to meet their healthcare needs. She strives to provide them with efficient and compassionate health care service. Her philosophy of care is to care for others as she would a loved one. Lakisha treats adults, aged 18 years and older for a variety of acute and chronic urologic conditions including erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism, elevated PSA, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with lower urinary tract symptoms, recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), and overactive bladder. She has a unique medical interest in general urology, especially the initial evaluation of prostate cancer, referral for diagnosis, and follow-up after a treatment plan has been established.

Outside of the office, Lakisha enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, trying new restaurants, and participating in Zumba and dance fitness. A Virginia Beach native, Lakisha enjoys the Hampton Roads area’s beaches, culture, food, and growth.
