He completed an internship and residency in Family Medicine at Riverside Regional Medical Center in 2001 and joined TPMG later that year. Dr. Willyard is board certified in Family Medicine, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School, and an Assistant Clinical Professor at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He regularly serves as a volunteer clinical preceptor for first- and second-year medical students. He is a past-president of the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians and remains active in leadership and advocacy efforts at the state and national level.
