Frank Huffman, MD is a family physician with over 30 years of experience caring for patients and their families. Dr. Huffman attended Virginia Tech, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Furthering his education, Dr. Huffman received his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He then completed his Family Practice internship and residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. He is board-certified by the American Academy of Family Practice. During the summer of his sophomore year at Virginia Tech, while working as a nurse’s assistant, Dr. Huffman discovered an interest in medicine, along with an affinity for helping others. He began his career as a private physician and later joined Riverside Medical Group, where he practiced for many years. Dr. Huffman strives to develop trusted relationships with his patients to provide the best possible care. He enjoys getting to know his patients better while applying a holistic approach to their care. Better health care delivery, he believes starts with a warm office environment and ensuring patients understand they have an opportunity to take an active role in their health. His medical philosophy reflects his life philosophy: to do all things with honor. Dr. Huffman grew up on a small farm in Southwest Virginia, where he enjoyed raising cattle and riding horses. His parents continue to live on the farm and he visits frequently. Although he misses many aspects of rural life and bemoans the fact that his children will not experience “farm life,” he very much enjoys living in Hampton Roads with its rich history and access to so much natural beauty. Dr. Huffman has been married to his lovely wife for 30 years, and they have three beautiful children. In his free time, he enjoys reading, exercising, traveling, and spending time with his family.
