Board certified dermatologist, Dr. Valerie Harvey, MD, MPH, FAAD is on a mission to help others discover the radiant glowing skin they’ve been longing for with a science-based skin care line. If you ask anyone, their top beauty goal is to have a youthful, glowing complexion, but it all starts with proper skin health.  As an expert in her field, Dr. Harvey understands the delicate nature of the skin and the long-term effects of weather and aging. With this in mind, she has formulated a treatment plan that is customized based on the needs of each patient.

In her practice she offers various in-office procedures to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and restore the skin’s appearance back to a natural more youthful state. These include superficial and medium depth chemical peels, Botox ®, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), Microneedling, and treatment of Dermatosis papulosa nigra (DPN) removal. With expertise in pigmentary skin disorders, she is also highly skilled in caring for patients with skin of color. Here is a list of procedures available:

Superficial and Medium Depth Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are acidic solutions used to provide a controlled exfoliation of the skin. Dermatologists use chemical peels to treat a variety of medical and cosmetic skin conditions such as acne, sun damage, dark patches, freckles, fine lines and other textural changes in the skin.
Advancements in chemical peels have made the process of peeling much less dramatic. Results are noted over 2–3 weeks and most conditions are treated with a series of peels.

Botox

Botulinum toxin (Botox) is an injectable medication that relaxes muscles and smoothens facial wrinkles, imparting a more youthful appearance. Treatments are quick and invisible. Results typically last for 3 months.

Microneedling

The microneedling procedure causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. The result is effective remodeling of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of your skin intact. Microneedling is mostly used to treat various types of scars, wrinkles, and to improve texture and pigmentation.

Platelet - Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP is a medical treatment that involves the use of platelets taken from your own blood. Platelets have numerous properties and release growth factors and substances that are beneficial to the hair and skin. Many studies have shown that treatment with PRP increases hair count and hair density. Therefore, many dermatologists are using this technique as a form of non-surgical hair restoration. Generally, three to four treatments are advised at monthly intervals to initiate hair growth with subsequent maintenance treatments once or twice a year. Results start to become obvious
3-4 months after the first procedure.
