She completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Third Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, in Hunan, China. Dr. Guan also completed an internship and residency in Family Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University/Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program in Newport News, Virginia. Dr. Guan takes a special interest in the treatment and management of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, women’s care, COPD, and preventative medicine. She approaches the care and treatment of her patients by considering all aspects of their physical and mental wellness, to promote optimal future health and quality of life. In addition to her daily primary care clinical practice, Dr. Guan practices hospital medicine at Mary Immaculate Hospital (MIH), specializing in the care of adults with complex medical problems, and providing treatment and management of various health conditions. In keeping with the culture in Yorktown family medicine, Dr. Guan enjoys building long-lasting relationships with her patients and their families, and provides guidance to help them make important lifestyle and medical choices. Dr. Guan and her husband reside in Yorktown. They have a son, a daughter, and a lovely Goldendoodle dog. She loves to garden both indoors and outdoors and enjoys singing, dancing, yoga, and traveling with her family.
