Local medical group, Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG), a network of over 220 physicians and advanced clinicians in over 85 offices across the Tidewater area, is excited to announce the expansion of imaging and OB/GYN services, providing more health care options to the Hampton community.
According to BreastCancer.org, about 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, making it essential to detect cancer in its earliest stages. TPMG’s team of radiologists, A. Janae Johnson, MD, Jeffrey A. VandeSand, MD, and Matthew T. Doherty, MD, are dedicated to providing patients with quality, comprehensive care. They are all fellowship trained and board certified by the American Board of Radiology, demonstrating excellence in the field.
With private, discrete mammography suites and state-of-the-art imaging equipment, radiologists can detect and diagnose cancer in its earliest stages.

TPMG offers additional imaging techniques from our ACR Accredited locations including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound. According to the American College of Radiology, ACR accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging. It ensures the physicians supervising and interpreting medical imaging meet stringent education and training standards.

TPMG is also expanding services with the addition of TPMG Obstetrics and Gynecology at a new Hampton location. This location will offer midwifery care, Centering® pregnancy, well-woman exams, family planning, in-office ultrasound, LEEP procedures, among others. The group consists of two midwives, Jennifer H. Farris, MSN, CNM, and Christina Gonzalez-Wilson, DNP, WHNP, and nurse practitioner, Jessica Johnson, FNP. TPMG obstetricians and gynecologists, Jeffrey D. Morrison, DO, Laura R. Cordes, MD, Teresa X. Tan, MD, and Deneishia S. Fisher, MD, will also be seeing patients at this location. Our experienced and well-trained physicians have medical staff privileges at Sentara CarePlex and Mary Immaculate Hospital.

TPMG welcomes LaVanzia Jones, FNP-C, who will be practicing at Newport News Internal Medicine and Middle Peninsula Women’s Care & Family Medicine in White Marsh. She practices family medicine at both locations and is currently accepting new patients. Jones has over 10 years of experience in the medical field and substantial knowledge of family care. She is passionate about promoting change through evidence-based practices and serves on several committees of the Professional Nurse Advancement program.
