Try Strive Fitness and Sports Performance’s Medically-Based Fitness Facility

We all want to be as healthy as we can be. Fitness facilities can help you achieve a sense of wellness and energy. Maintaining a healthy level of fitness is important to your overall health, but it isn’t the only factor. At TMPG Strive Fitness and Sports Performance, we take a medically-based fitness approach, starting your fitness journey by considering all of your wellness needs. Our model of skillfully guided care allows a team of fitness experts, nutritionists, primary care providers, rehab specialists, and other healthcare providers to help you achieve your health goals. We pride ourselves on having close relationships with TPMG Physicians and our Physical Therapists. Prior to your initial assessment, we work closely with this medical team to understand your medical history and reason for a referral before developing your workout regimen. This ensures that your workout is designed for you and your unique wellness needs.

TPMG has a network of over 220 providers in over 85 offices throughout Hampton Roads. Access to this multi-specialty provider network allows for quicker referrals and a broad range of options for meeting our clients’ health needs. There is always a risk for injury or other medical issues to arise when we increase our physical activity. In a medically-based fitness program, access to the larger medical team allows us to address those issues quickly. For example, if a STRIVE client sprains their ankle, their personal trainer can connect them directly with our Physical Therapists for prompt evaluation and treatment. If the injury is more serious, they can be seen by our Orthopedic Physicians through the Open Injury Clinic. STRIVE personal trainers follow up with these providers to tailor training sessions to fit their clients’ needs. Fitness programs can often be adjusted to work around casts, braces, and other limitations in order to keep you moving towards your fitness goals!

“We are a more comfortable place for people who suffer from medical issues because we’re more adaptive and equipped to help you navigate how to work out within those restrictions or parameters,” says Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Athletic Trainer, Tina Keasey who heads the STRIVE Fitness and Performance Program.

While STRIVE provides excellent services for those with health issues, these are not the only clients that can benefit from the program. Our trainers work with a range of clients from those just starting on their fitness journey to elite athletes looking to improve their performance. If you’re looking for a more comprehensive fitness center, TPMG Strive Fitness and Sports Performance might be right for you!
