Sesame Ginger Slaw

Looking for a creative, yet healthy side dish? According to the CDC’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans, adults should look to consume 1.5-2 cups of fruit and 2-3 cups of vegetables a day. With many meals featuring protein or carbohydrates and the main event, sides are an excellent way to add some needed fruits and veggies to your plate.

While ginger alone doesn’t look like the healthiest food, this root has a variety of benefits for your health. Ginger has great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. I can also reduce nausea and indigestion. Many use ginger to relieve symptoms of nausea due to chemotherapy or morning sickness. Try this simple sesame ginger slaw! With only a few ingredients, this can be tossed together in a few minutes and pair well with grilled chicken or fish.
