Susan Buckley, MSN, BSN, FNP-BC

Susan Z. Buckley, MSN, BSN, FNP-BC received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Sentara College of Health Professions in Hampton. Following her undergraduate degree she went on to earn a Masters of Science in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

 

Susan has worked as a registered nurse for over 35 years, primarily in critical care nursing. During this time, she gained extensive experience caring for patients in intensive care units, working with cardiac, medical, and surgical patients, and responding to emergencies throughout the hospital as a Medical Response Team Nurse.

With a passion for helping others, Susan enjoys the ability to make a profound impact on someone’s life through necessary medical care. As a nephrology nurse practitioner, she looks forward to experiencing the same great sense of fulfillment that she received in her many years of nursing. She strongly believes that each patient should be allowed to have care that is in accordance with their wishes and beliefs. In practice, she takes time to listen to her patients needs and provide medical care that aligns with their current lifestyle and goals.

At TPMG Nephrology, Susan provides adult care to patients with kidney disease, particularly those who require long-term dialysis treatment.

Susan is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).

Born and raised in Northern Minnesota, Susan has lived in the Tidewater area since 1990. She enjoys the warm coastal weather of Southeastern Virginia and close access to the mountains and ocean, as well as the numerous historical sites in the area. She is married with two adult daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, swimming, and traveling. TPMG Nephrology in Newport News warmly welcomed Susan to their practice in 2021.
