Rhodes, FNP-BC, earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing at Virginia Commonwealth University to ultimately pursue her passion to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Sharon is a board certified family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. As a nurse practitioner, Sharon considers it a great pleasure and privilege to be able to help patients improve their health and quality of life through a diagnosis and treatment. She began practicing in 2003 as a family nurse practitioner and joined Independence Family Medicine in 2015 with a focus on preventive medicine, wellness and management of chronic illness. Sharon believes in a holistic approach to care that focuses on treating every patient as a whole, while taking into consideration various aspects of their lifestyle–physical, mental and spiritual–to achieve the best outcome. In 2018, Sharon transitioned to TPMG Coastal Endocrinology alongside Timothy Petersen, MD, FACP, ECNU to pursue further specialized practice in endocrinology and the management of endocrine disorders. She became interested in the opportunity to more comprehensively treat endocrine disorders on a less complex level during her time in family practice. Sharon brings her holistic approach to medicine that has guided her in patient care and she looks forward to helping patients with complex endocrine disorders manage their conditions and take steps to improve their quality of life. Missed Appointment/Cancellation Policy When an appointment is missed, our first concern is the patient’s safety, well-being and that nothing unfortunate has occurred. However, failure to show up and same day cancellations prevent other patients from being seen. As a result of same day cancellations and no shows, TPMG Coastal Endocrinology will assess the following fees for same day cancellations and no show appointments: Follow up appointments: $25 Fees are assessed per occurrence and must be paid at least 48 hours prior to the patient’s next scheduled appointment or that appointment will be cancelled.
