5424 Discovery Park Boulevard Monday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Samantha “Sammi” Crittenden, PT, DPT, is a certified Doctor of Physical Therapy in Williamsburg. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia. Furthering her education, she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Emory and Henry University in Marion, Virginia. Sammi belongs to the Virginia chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and joined TPMG Physical Therapy in 2024. With experience in physical therapy and the fitness industry, Sammi is well-equipped to help patients recover from injury and improve their overall strength. After undergoing a shoulder labrum repair in 2019, Sammi needed physical therapy to regain strength and function. Her experience showed her the impact an injury can have on your daily life as well as the obstacles faced by those who wish to return to their sport or lifestyle after an injury. Sammi leverages her physical therapist training and her background recovering from shoulder surgery to provide empathetic and experienced care. Her insight into the physical and mental obstacles faced by those undergoing physical therapy allows her to better serve her community. As a provider, Sammi treats patients holistically rather than focusing on a single injury, believing that psychosocial recovery from an injury is just as important as physical recovery. She works with patients to develop specific, individualized care plans that achieve their unique goals. Prioritizing active listening, she forms professional relationships with patients based on trust, empathy, motivation, and respect. Working alongside her patients, they can create mutual goals to enhance the recovery process. Sammi provides specific interventions geared toward patients’ goals to help them return to their hobbies and sports. Sammi sees patients of all ages for a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions including chronic pain, post-operative ACL, MCL, meniscus injury, ankle sprains, spondylolisthesis, acute muscle strains, concussion, long COVID, Parkinson’s, and more. She’s especially interested in helping athletes return to the sports they love as well as treating the general orthopedic population. Outside of work, Sammi can be found at the gym lifting weights, playing with her dog, visiting the beach, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes’ football team. A native of the Hampton Roads area, Sammi finds it especially rewarding to serve a community so near to her heart. Sammi warmly welcomes patients to make an appointment to see her at TPMG Physical Therapy in Williamsburg.
