Furthermore, Mary received her Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies: Public and Community Health and Exercise Science from Liberty University in Lynchburg. Mary has gained extensive experience in fitness and nutrition as a personal trainer, a bariatric registered dietitian, a fitness specialist, and a registered dietitian/health coach. From a young age, Mary knew she wanted to work in medicine. She realized early on that nutrition played as significant a role as physical activity in maintaining health. Mary discovered the key to disease prevention and improved chronic disease management stems from maintaining a balanced diet. Helping patients improve their nutrition and overall health became Mary’s passion and she took every step to pursue it. She utilized her years of education to learn about all aspects of health, including wellness, nutrition, and fitness, and works to educate patients on the true meaning of “healthy living.” As a registered dietitian in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, VA, Mary understands that every patient’s unique needs depend upon the individual’s short-term and long-term goals. With this in mind, she tailors each plan specific to that patient. Mary’s dietary health plan typically includes assessing patient needs, providing health information, building healthy habits, and working with patients to meet their improved health goals. Mary finds satisfaction in treating diabetes, cholesterol, heart disease, weight loss, and weight management. These common conditions can be treated and even prevented with proper diet and care. She has remained true to her love of fitness by becoming a certified personal trainer, a group fitness instructor, and a yoga instructor. In her downtime, she enjoys participating in outdoor activities, such as swimming, playing soccer, biking, and hiking. She enjoys Hampton Roads due to the large population, which allows her to reach and help so many people in the community. Mary believes, “the patient always comes first.” Undergraduate: Tidewater Community College and Norfolk State University Academy of nutrition and dietetics (AND) Services include:Office Address
