Primary Care Physician in Yorktown, VA

Latisha Murray, MD earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia. Furthering her education, Dr. Murray earned her Doctor of Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She then completed her Residency at St. Francis Family Medicine Residency Program in Midlothian, Virginia. Dr. Murray is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She has practiced medicine for more than nine years.

Dr. Murray was drawn to the medical field from a young age. Her grandmother passed away unexpectedly when she was young from a suspected aneurysm and she was inspired by the doctors and nurses who worked to try and save her life. Dr. Murray sought to understand what transpired that day in her grandmother’s hospital room and it led her to pursue a career in medicine so that she could help other people and their families.

As a strong advocate for her patients, she encourages them to take an active role in their health. She enjoys primary care because it affords her the opportunity to develop long-lasting relationships with her patients. Working as a team, they can consider all possible health decisions and come to a consensus on the best care plan. She strives to make sure her patients are heard and takes time to truly listen to their concerns.

As a primary care physician in Yorktown, Dr. Murray treats a variety of chronic and acute conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, respiratory infections, and urinary tract infections. She sees patients of all ages and takes a special medical interest in preventative medicine, women’s health, and adolescent health.

When she isn’t in the office, Dr. Murray enjoys drag racing, WWII and other history documentaries, crafting, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Murray loves the proximity to water and beaches that the Hampton Roads Community offers.

Dr. Murray warmly welcomes patients to TPMG Grafton Family Medicine.
