Kimberly B. Caldwell, MD, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. She completed her family medicine residency at David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base in California. Dr. Caldwell is board certified in family medicine and is a nocturnist, a hospital-based doctor who works overnight, at the TPMG Hospitalist Division at Mary Immaculate Hospital (MIH).

With a background in family medicine and primary care, Dr. Caldwell enjoys managing complex medical problems in the hospital setting. She finds the field of hospital medicine energizes her with each day bringing its own unique set of challenges. In her clinical practice, Dr. Caldwell takes a holistic approach to care, which she believes allows her to provide optimal care and treat the whole patient.

Dr. Caldwell is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians. Whenever given the opportunity, Dr. Caldwell enjoys teaching and lecturing.

As a former member of the Armed Forces, Dr. Caldwell has had the privilege of working with servicemembers, retirees, and their families serving overseas for seven years. She notes some of the hardest, yet most rewarding days of her career have been spent working in a surgical intensive care unit in Landstuhl, Germany, treating wounded warriors. Dr. Caldwell is also passionate about helping others through medical mission work and has served underprivileged populations in Timor Leste and Laos.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Caldwell finds the most joy in spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys the numerous outdoor activities available to the Hampton Roads community ­include paddle boarding, scuba diving, snorkeling, running, and going to the beach.
