BIOGRAPHY

Family Medicine Physician in Chesapeake, VA

Emma Robl, DO is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with TPMG Indian River Family Practice. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. Furthering her education, Dr. Robl received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and completed her VCU-Riverside Family Medicine Residency in Newport News where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Robl joined TPMG Indian River Family Medicine in 2022.

Growing up, Dr. Robl’s family physician took care of four generations of her family, from her 102-year-old grandmother to her 10-year-old nephew and everyone in between. Witnessing her family’s relationship with their provider over the years influenced Dr. Robl’s choice of career. She enjoys having bonds of trust with patients and their families, using the art of medicine to heal and educate. Dr. Robl passionately advocates for her patients, ensuring each patient understands their medical condition and answering any questions they might have. As a family medicine physician, she can take care of an entire family. Her philosophy is to deliver quality care in order to improve a person’s overall health and well-being, using evidence-based medicine and osteopathy.

Dr. Robl treats patients of all ages, from newborns to those of advanced age, including those in hospice care. She treats a variety of chronic and acute conditions, including high blood pressure, diabetes, depression/anxiety, elevated cholesterol, low back pain, asthma/COPD, and more. She has a particular medical interest in women’s health, pediatrics, palliative care, and psychiatry; and offers services such as gynecological (Nexplanon, IUD, pap smears, endometrial biopsy), cortisone injections (knee, shoulder, wrist), I&Ds/cyst removals, skin biopsy, foreign body removals, osteopathic manipulative therapy (OMT), trigger point injections, and laceration repairs.

When she isn’t in the office, Dr. Robl enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, Kona, who is ecstatic to be so close to the beach to swim. She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and camping and wants to visit all of the U.S. national parks. She loves the Hampton Roads community for its proximity to the beach, great restaurants, and other fun activities.

Dr. Robl warmly welcomes patients to TPMG Indian River Family Practice.
