Catherine Meyer, PA-C, joined TPMG Orthopedics in early 2018. A board certified physician assistant, Catherine works collaboratively with Dr. Thomas Durbin to provide care to patients with recreational and organized sports-related injuries in both the Newport News and Williamsburg office locations.

A native of Richmond, Catherine received her undergraduate degree in Cellular, Molecular and Physiological Biology from Christopher Newport University in 2015 and her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Shenandoah University in 2017. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants.

As a physician assistant, Catherine serves as an extension to the group of physicians within TPMG Orthopedics. Her training enables her to perform many of the same procedures as her collaborating physicians, including fracture care, ordering and interpretation of imaging and laboratory results, prescription of appropriate medication, and musculoskeletal joint injections.  She also supports and manages patient care during both pre-operative and post-operative appointments for Dr. Durbin’s surgical patients.

In her leisure time, Catherine enjoys group fitness classes, running outdoors and cheering on the Boston Red Sox. She has a special interest in the psychosocial effects of injury on athletes, and as an avid reader of athlete autobiographies, she is often inspired by those who have triumphed over periods of adversity, injury and hardship to achieve success. Catherine is passionate about the opportunity to treat patients during injury, supporting their healthy recovery and return to activity, and is dedicated to providing compassionate and holistic care.
