After Hours Medical Care

After Hours Care

In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department.

During Regular Medical Office Hours: If you experience a sudden illness or injury during office hours, call your physician’s office. Indicate that you have an urgent condition requiring medical attention. Your condition will be assessed and you will either be scheduled for an appointment in the office, or referred elsewhere for appropriate care.

After Regular Medical Office Hours: If a situation occurs after office hours that requires the attention of your physician, please call their office for recorded instructions or to access a physician through their answering service. The on-call physician will respond to your call as soon as possible. If you do not receive a response within an hour, please leave another message with the answering service. Please remember that requests for medical services to our after-hours, on-call physician should be for urgent situations only. Prescription refills and other non-urgent matters should be requested during regular office hours.

TPMG is pleased to partner with Velocity Urgent Care to provide after hours urgent care to our patients. We realize not all medical emergencies occur within our office hours and teaming up with Velocity Urgent Care to get you the care you need, when you need it is our utmost priority. All of your visit notes and tests will be securely sent to our office immediately after your visit, so we may add them to your chart and your provider can make recommendations moving forward. Click here to learn more.

Hospital Care

Many of the TPMG physicians are active members of the medical staff at local hospitals and outpatient centers and work with TPMG Hospitalists to provide you with care during your hospital stay.

When non-emergency hospitalization is necessary, please remember that it is your responsibility to obtain any required approvals for hospital admission from your insurance carrier and your primary care physician, surgeon or specialist. Please notify your insurance carrier prior to obtaining any non-emergency hospitalization care.

During your hospital stay, the on-call physician or Hospitalist will visit you daily to assess your medical condition, make changes in your regimen and/or order any testing that is necessary.

Prior to your hospital discharge, you will receive specific instructions regarding your follow-up care. Please follow all instructions very carefully. After you are discharged from the hospital, your follow-up care will be monitored by your primary care physician, surgeon or other specialist. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call your physician’s office.
