The practice was established by Dr. Michael Moro, who began treating patients in 1974. In 2017, Independence Family Medicine joined TPMG and moved to its current location on Witchduck Road. Dr. Eric Byman, our managing physician, was raised in Virginia Beach and has been practicing medicine here since 2005. We also have highly qualified and experienced ACP healthcare providers, Mary Huntley-Wagner, FNP-BC, and Megan McKay, FNP-C. We offer same-day appointments when available. Please call early in the day to maximize the chance of securing a same-day appointment. For patient convenience, TPMG Independence Family Medicine draws most laboratory blood tests in the office. We offer EKGs, lung function tests, sleep studies, and several vaccines. We also have easy access to X-ray services and numerous medical specialists due to our affiliation with TPMG.
