Timothy C. Petersen, MD, FACP, FACE, ENCU is board-certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He also achieved Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU) status.  Dr. Petersen joined TPMG with the opening of TPMG Coastal Endocrinology in 2016. 

Tharini Gunapalan, MD is a board-certified internal medicine and endocrinology physician who served as a hospitalist/internist for three years before pursuing her endocrinology fellowship. Dr. Gunapalan joined TPMG Coastal Endocrinology – Suffolk in 2023.

• Stimulation testing (availble on Thursday and Friday in the Virginia Beach location and Fridays in the Suffolk location)

Appointments

We do not accept walk-ins or same-day appointments.

Missed Appointment/Cancellation Policy

When an appointment is missed, our first concern is the patient’s safety and well-being and that nothing unfortunate has occurred. However, failure to show up and same-day cancellations prevent other patients from being seen. As a result of same-day cancellations and no-shows, TPMG Coastal Endocrinology – Suffolk will assess the following fees for same-day cancellations and no-show appointments:

Follow-up appointments: $25             

Fees are assessed per occurrence and must be paid at least 48 hours before the patient’s next scheduled appointment or that appointment will be canceled.

After Hours Care

We have an on-call line where patients can reach the provider on-call for pressing matters.

Billing

Copayments are due at the time of service.

Prescriptions

Please allow up to 48 hours for prescription refills.
