On June 30, 2017, Dr. Douglas Chessen retired and the practice became TPMG Behavioral Health. TPMG later welcomed Dr. Kenneth Richmond, a board-certified psychiatrist. A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation may be necessary to diagnose any number of emotional, behavioral or developmental disorders. Individual psychotherapy involves regularly scheduled talks between the patient and one of our mental health professionals. The sessions may focus on current or past problems, experiences, thoughts, feelings or relationships. By sharing experiences with a trained empathic person, individuals may gradually come to understand more about themselves and their problems. Family and marital therapy focus very clearly on the relationships involved, and by involving all the people concerned, seeks to help those relationships work better. Love and Relationship Counseling Blogs Our office uses the Virginia Prescription Drug Monitoring Program in order to monitor and reduce the risk of prescription drug misuse. Patients showing misuse of medication(s) or attempts of refills by numerous physicians will be discharged from our practice.
