TPMG Coastal Endocrinology joined TPMG in August 2016 and is accepting new patients.  When visiting our office, you will be welcomed by Timothy C. Petersen, MD, FACP, FACE, ENCU, Medha Joshi, MD, FACP, Sharon H. Rhodes, FNP-BC, Ryan Melchers, PA-C, Lane Bell, DNP, FNP-C, and John Goodwin, PA-C. As a team, we work together to put our patients first. We are opening a second location, TPMG Coastal Endocrinology – Suffolk on August 8, 2023!

Timothy C. Petersen, MD, FACP, FACE, ENCU is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He also achieved Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU) status.  Dr. Petersen joined TPMG with the opening of TPMG Coastal Endocrinology in 2016. Sharon H. Rhodes, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Rhodes joined TPMG Coastal Endocrinology in 2018. Medha Joshi, MD, FACP is board-certified in internal and obesity medicine and completed fellowships in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Joshi served as a faculty member at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania, where she taught various aspects of internal medicine to residents and medical students. In fact, Dr. Joshi was awarded “Teacher of the Year: Best Attending in Medicine” for three consecutive years among other notable awards. She joined TPMG Coastal Endocrinology in 2021.

At TPMG Coastal Endocrinology, our goal is to tackle complex endocrine disorders and improve the quality of life of our patients.

In-office services and treatments include:

• Bone disorders (osteoporosis, osteopenia, and osteomalacia)
• Calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D disorders
• Diabetes Type 1 and insulin pump management
• Diabetes Type 2
• Hormone disorders (male and female)
• Obesity
• Pituitary disorders
• Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
• Thyroid cancer
• Thyroid function disorders (hypo- and hyperthyroidism)
• Thyroid nodules, including ultrasound and biopsy

Appointments

We do not accept walk-ins or same-day appointments.

Missed Appointment/Cancellation Policy

When an appointment is missed, our first concern is the patient’s safety, well-being and that nothing unfortunate has occurred. However, failure to show up and same-day cancellations prevent other patients from being seen. As a result of same-day cancellations and no-shows, TPMG Coastal Endocrinology will assess the following fees for same-day cancellations and no-show appointments:

Follow-up appointments: $25             

Fees are assessed per occurrence and must be paid at least 48 hours prior to the patient’s next scheduled appointment or that appointment will be canceled.

After Hours Care

We have an on-call line where patients can reach the provider on-call for pressing matters.

Billing

Copayments are due at the time of service.

Prescriptions

Please allow up to 48 hours for prescription refills.
