Newport News, VA, April 15, 2021–Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG) is pleased to announce that Eric J. Simko, MD, FACS, FAAOA of TPMG Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery/Allergy has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for his 20 years of academic service to Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in Norfolk, VA.
EVMS recognizes those who make a difference in their communities through their service. Community Faculty milestone recipients are honored with a Certificate of Appreciation and an invitation to scheduled Community Faculty Appreciation events.
All Community Faculty Appreciation events scheduled to take place in 2020 were canceled due to the unfortunate COVID-19 pandemic. These events will commence with Faculty Appreciation Week from April 19-23, 2021.
After serving as an EVMS Clinical Assistant Professor in otolaryngology for 20 years, Dr. Simko has reached a major milestone.
“I am extremely grateful to the faculty of the EVMS Department of Otolaryngology for this recognition and award. Teaching our specialty to others is my passion,” said Dr. Simko.
Apart from his academic contributions, Dr. Simko continues to practice as a board certified otolaryngologist in Newport News, VA. He was the first otolaryngologist to join TPMG and has remained with the group since 2010.
“The greatest reward of practicing medicine and surgery is to be entrusted with the physical care and mental well being of our patients; I am grateful to all the patients who have placed their trust in me over the past 30 years of practicing my specialty,” said Dr. Simko.
We congratulate Dr. Simko on his accomplishment and encourage him to continue educating the future leaders of medicine.
