Virginia Beach, Virginia – Local medical group, Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group, hosts Grand Opening Ceremony at its Town Center medical hub in Virginia Beach. TPMG Southside Medical Director, Mark R. Winters, MD, ABFM, FAAFP, founding member, John P. Bryant, MD, and city council member Dr. Amelia Ross-Hammond gave opening remarks during the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony. “We celebrate both the incredible growth we’ve experienced from meager beginnings and the dedicated physicians and staff that work here for the betterment of the health of the citizens of Virginia Beach and Tidewater,” said Dr. Winters. This celebration marks a great milestone for TPMG, as the company has an increased focus on broadening medical services offered to the Southside community. TPMG Town Center, our Southside medical hub, consists of more than 10 offices and 60 staff members serving the Virginia Beach Town Center area. In 1992, amidst an environment of medical practices increasingly being bought out or aligning with hospital systems or large business entities, a small group of four family physicians seized upon the principle that the best medical care must remain in the examination room between the patient and physician and that the business side of medicine should remain at the practice site and within physician-owned and physician-managed groups. Our model has obviously struck a chord with physicians and patients in the past 31 years as TPMG has grown to become one of the largest physician-owned and managed medical groups in Virginia, with over 240 providers, 85 sites, and over a thousand employees throughout the Tidewater region. Our journey towards providing accessible and affordable healthcare for the Virginia Beach community started with just one medical practice in 2005, TPMG Holland Road Family Medicine. Over the ensuing years, in response to the community’s growing interest in our unique healthcare model, TPMG’s Southside division has grown to 61 providers with 10 primary care sites and 18 different medical specialties. At our Town Center hub and Cardiology Division alone, 11 different medical specialties are represented, creating a collaborative referral system that aims to provide patients with expedited, quality care at a competitive cost. We celebrate this monumental achievement and the success of our rich and thriving medical center. As we look to the future, TPMG will continue to innovate and enact our mission to provide excellent and compassionate care across Hampton Roads. |
