With fall here and winter approaching, cold and flu season is upon us, and we’re all looking for ways to boost our immune systems against viruses and infections. Pumpkin contains vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that not only promote immunity but also regulate blood pressure and decrease your risk of heart disease. Chickpeas are another excellent source of nutrients. High in fiber and vitamin B, they can help support your gut health, assist with weight loss, and improve your heart health. Rich in protein, chickpeas can also help you feel satiated, leading you to snack less and feel fuller more quickly.
Eating nutritious foods doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice flavor. Try this recipe for pumpkin hummus which combines the nutritional benefits of pumpkin and chickpeas into one delicious dish. It’s the perfect snack to munch on instead of fatty, processed foods that won’t make you feel full.
