Digestive Disease Center of Virginia (DDC) was established May 12, 2010, and is conveniently located in the New Town area of Williamsburg, Virginia.

Dr. Richard J. Hartle offers board certified gastrointestinal care in an environment that is comfortable, personable and professional.  Mr. Stephen Hawkins began working with Dr. Hartle in 2002, and together they joined TPMG in January 2014.

Services include consultative evaluation for all gastrointestinal diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease and hepatology.  An array of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of the upper and lower gastrointestinal system are also performed.  Examples include upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.  Some of the advanced procedures performed include variceal banding, APC therapy, stent placements, PEG tubes, Bravo pH probe, dilatations, injection therapy and small bowel capsule endoscopy.

We always welcome new patients.  You should arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.  Alternatively, you can complete necessary forms by clicking on the appropriate forms listed above.  Please remember to bring completed forms with you to your appointment, along with your insurance card(s) and a photo ID such as a driver’s license.

We will need a complete list of your current medications including dosage and strength.  Please write down any issues of concern that you would like to discuss with the doctor.

DDC kindly requests at least 24 hour notice should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.  Failure to provide us with notification or not showing for your scheduled appointment may result in a $50 fee to your account.  This fee is not covered by your insurance.  If you are not able to provide a minimum of 24 hour notification to our office due to extenuating circumstances, please contact our office.

Prescription Refills:

Prescriptions will only be filled during regular office hours.  If you are in need of a prescription refill, please allow 48-72 hours for us to honor your request.

For billing inquiries, please contact TPMG Central Billing Office at 757-232-8833, and one of our representatives will gladly assist you.  Patients are responsible for non-covered services that are provided by our office.
