TPMG Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists opened September 29, 2014 in the Harbour View area of Suffolk. Dr. Pierre Martin offers comprehensive ENT services with over 20 years experience. He has practiced throughout the Tidewater area for many years, and recently joined TPMG as our first specialist in the city of Suffolk. He welcomes new patients, as well as loyal patients to schedule an appointment with him.
Bonnie Dooley, RN joined our staff in December 2014, and provides allergy services. Bonnie has over 25 years’ experience, and is excited to offer a service that is a valuable part of the evaluation and treatment of ENT patients. Bonnie is the founder of Allergy Beginnings Consulting Services, which provides training according to the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy guidelines for ENT physicians. When she started the consulting service over 15 years ago, she saw a need for doctors to start off on the right foot when wanting to incorporate allergy into their practice. After spending a lot of time on the phone answering questions for other nurses new to the world of allergy, the business evolved. She serves as a consultant for Hollister Steir Allergy Labs in assisting such customers. Bonnie is a frequent speaker in the community, sharing her knowledge and experiences with any groups that are interested in allergy. She also served as a member of a National Nurse Advisory Board for the anti-IgE drug, Xolair, when the drug was launched ten years ago.
Plans are underway to provide inhalant allergy testing with the common regional allergens and IgE food testing. Immunotherapy and dietary assistance will follow the testing. Treatment with Xolair will also be available for those asthma patients with allergies that fit the guidelines, as well as those who meet the newest indication, Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria. In the future, plans will be to expand the available testing to include any available chemicals and medications.
