The TPMG Central Laboratory is a full service laboratory providing a comprehensive menu of diagnostic testing to all physicians of TPMG, as well as other physicians on the Peninsula. The menu includes automated chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis, immunochemistry and manual serology and immunology. The laboratory employs highly trained staff who use the most advanced technology in laboratory instrumentation. The Central Laboratory is fully accredited by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) and the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA).
Marlene Capps, MD is the Laboratory Director of TPMG Central Laboratory.
Specimens for laboratory testing may be collected at numerous TPMG locations on the Peninsula and Southside. Please contact your TPMG physician to determine if they collect specimens in their office, and if an appointment is required.

All patient test results are handled with utmost confidentiality. Laboratory results are sent electronically via a secure network to the TPMG Electronic Health Record (EHR) or faxed directly to the office of the ordering physician. Should you need copies of lab results, please contact your physician. You may also contact your physician electronically through the TPMG Patient Portal to request lab results. As required and when specifically requested by the patient or ordering physician, the laboratory may send results to other health professionals.
